Blades need genuine clearance above head height — and in bedrooms, above anyone on a raised bed or bunk. The full sweep must be clear of walls, beams, sloped ceiling faces, upward-opening wardrobe doors, and light fittings.
This matters more than people expect. A standard lighting dimmer on a fan motor causes humming, overheating, and shortened motor life. It's a genuinely common mis-installation, and the fan gets blamed for it.
